Getting a health insurance card
To register for the public health or drug insurance plan, as well as various government health programs, you must contact the Quebec Health Insurance Board (RAMQ).
Finding a family doctor
To have access to a family doctor, you need to register at the Family Doctor Access Portal. If you already had one in your original region, you can keep them while waiting for a new one, but you still need to request a new doctor.
In the meantime, you can call Info-Santé 811 option 1 for non-urgent medical questions.
In case of a medical EMERGENCY, go directly to the hospital or dial 911.
It is possible to book appointments for certain services (vaccinations, tests, etc.) through this platform.
Directory of health and social services
CLSCs provide their local population with common health and social services, preventive or medical services, rehabilitation or reintegration services, and public health activities. There are four in our region.
You can consult this map to find the closest service point of the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. If needed, call 418 669-2000 to access various health services in the region.
